Ronnie Millings

Ronald (Ronnie) Millings (Belfast, 1937) was a Northern Irish drummer, especially known for his involvement with the Them group.

Millings played from around 1960 together with, among others, guitarist Billy Harrison and bassist Raymond Sweetman. They played American rock-and-roll and rhythm and blues in clubs in Belfast. After Sweetman's place was taken by Alan Henderson, a permanent occupation arose and the group called the Gamblers. Later, Eric Wrixon, keyboardist also joined and after singer Van Morrison joined the group, the Gamblers got a firm commitment to the Maritime Hotel in Belfast. In the course of 1963 the band ventured to London, where the name was changed to Them. They made a number of recordings during the Millings period, including the first hit Baby please do not go. Shortly afterwards, Ronnie Millings left the group and the music world. At Them he was succeeded by Pat McAuley.
