Gozo Shioda (September 9, 1915 - July 17, 1994) was the founder of the Yoshinkan style of aikidō, known as the most vigorous style, being even adapted by the Japanese police and military authorities in the present. The founder of the martial art of Aikido, the master Morihei Ueshiba awarded the 9th dan 1961.

Shioda-sensei was a student and competitor of Judo in his youth, and after challenging and having been easily knocked down by master Ueshiba-sensei after a demonstration, he became his pupil learning Daito ryu Aiki jujutsu, in the beginning . He became known as one of the most powerful masters and martial artists in the history of aikido, reaching an incredible level, even to replicate several of the founder's martial prowess.
