The West Frieze Styk was an organization founded in the Beemster by Mr. Mr. Arian De Goede (1915-1957). The organization tried to generate a West Frisian nationalism in the West Friesland region and share it outside. One can compare it to Frisian nationalism.
The West Frieze Styk was the organizer of the Great Frisian Congress in Medemblik in 1937. About 1940, the West Frieze-Styk attempted to set a spelling for West Frisian. However, the word image that came with this writing was so different from the past that the attempt failed.
