Archibald ("Archie") M Baird (Rutherglen, May 8, 1919 - Aberdeen, November 3, 2009) was a Scottish footballer. Baird was captured during the Second World War as a British soldier, but he escaped and was captured by an Italian family. In 1989 he published his memoirs entitled Family of Four. Football career

The attacker and midfielder played at Aberdeen from 1946 to 1953 and then at St. Johnstone FC (1953-1956). After his football career he became a teacher.

Baird scored 26 times for Aberdeen and won the Scottish Cup in 1946 and 1947. He played once in the national team of Scotland in a friendly interland against Belgium in 1946. According to Archie Baird, who debuted The game must never go through because the field seemed to play snow with a few inches of snow and a thin layer of ice cream.
