Corrales (Aljaraque)

For other uses of this term, see Corrales (disambiguation).

Corrales is a village or hamlet belonging to the municipality of Aljaraque, in the province of Huelva (Spain). In 2008 it had a population of 3,276 inhabitants. Its construction dates back to the last third of the 19th century, when the Tharsis Sulphur and Copper Company Limited had to accommodate some of the workers at the Tharsis mines. In the immediate vicinity were various metallurgical facilities such as a pyrite factory and the important Tharsis Pier, which led to the Huelva estuary.

In recent years there has been a considerable increase in the building in its vicinity, in a new area called Nuevo Corrales and in which some buildings emulate the English colonial style, which refers to the origin of the locality.
