Moyeria

Moyeria is a fossil with an antiquity of up to 450 million years, probably belonging to the group of eugénidos. It has the shape of a small deflated rugby ball with a size of 20 by 40 μm. It presents a unique bihelical body architecture composed of fused bands. Probably lived in fresh water and in environments close to the coast and constitutes a test of the complexity of the early sweet-growing ecosystems.

It is found in the sediments of the Upper Ordovician and Silurian of Pennsylvania (United States), Wales (United Kingdom) and Gotland (Sweden) and is usually placed among acritarchs.
