The Three Order Ribbon (Portuguese: "Banda de las Três Ordens") is a special Portuguese distinction.

The Portuguese kings are wearing a tri-color ribbon in the colors of green, red and purple as a visible expression of their grandmastership of the three main Portuguese knight orders, the Order of Christ, the Order of Aviz and the Order of Saint Jacob of the Sword.

The kings carried on the ribbon that was worn over the right shoulder a clear golden medallion with the three crosses of knight orders. As a raise, a brace crown was applied. It was also awarded to honorary state heads. On the left breast was a gold star wearing the three-order medallion.

The presidents of the Portuguese Republic are also going to wear this sign. They replaced the crown through a laurel wreath and removed the decoration of the Holy Heart of Christ added in the 19th century.

This star and this medallion on the tri-colored ribbon are also issued to friendly heads of state. Literature Externe link
