Trio Salta

The musical group Trío Cristiano Salta was born in the month of September 1987 in the city of Salta, Argentina, being the first folk-Christian ensemble in that area. Its first members were: Jorge W. Echazú, Miguel Liendro, Omar Guerrero. Beginnings in the artistic medium

Its beginnings were not easy, the religious leaders of that time did not approve that the gauchos could sing to God. But because of the great effort, perseverance and God's support, I change everything. Each day they became more known and loved by the people, their singing carried all the strength of the typical music of the Province of Salta, Argentina, which was entering the hearts of people.

In 1990 they were invited to Canada Vancouver, this being their first trip abroad. There they made the presentation of their first titled album "Con mi alma de Gaucho", the transcendence was very good.

In 1993 they toured the United States of America making songs from their second record label entitled "Immaculate", bringing for the first time typical Argentine music with a Christian accent to that place.

In 1994 the member Omar Guerrero, after marrying, accepted to be sent with his family to serve God in Formosa, leaving the vacant place which would be occupied by José Pintos, who brings to the group a typical instrumentation of the Altiplano of Bolivia, playing several instruments: Sicu, Zampoña, Toyo, charango, among others.

In 1996 they recorded the album "Por Quebradas con Mariachis" in which Mexican songs are included.

In 1997, they begin to record the album that later would be titled "The altiplano is celebrating". Which gives a new sound to the group that would embrace new rhythms such as the Saya, which is characteristic of Bolivia, which is on the theme "There is no one like you" which was one of the favorite themes of the public.

In 1998 they make a tour of Bolivia where they produce the video clips of the songs: For Love, Nobody like You, Shalón Jerusalem, Walls fall, Sing to the Creator.

In 1999, they toured England where they presented their new material entitled "The Altiplano is celebrating". Until then everything was going wonderfully for the group.

At the beginning of 2000 Miguel Liendro and José Pintos decided to leave the Salta Trio and form their own group. Jorge Echazú with the desire to continue again, seeks other members but in that year he does not succeed.

In 2001 the group can not fulfill an invitation for England, Ireland and Scotland due to the lack of members. In 2002 the director decides to train his children in music.

In 2003 a friend of Jorge Echazú, Professor Dante Valdivieso, introduced him to Arnaldo Wierna, who was the director of a music school "Halal" and prof. of folklore and typical dances of Salta. Jorge Echazú offered to be part of the musical group, Arnaldo without a doubt accepted and from there they began to form the new phase of the group. The audience accepted Arnaldo without any problems, and his voice with strength and sweetness gave the group a new touch. New Stage

In the year 2004 they begin to record with the engineer David Gonzales the album titled "Tiempo de Volver" which would end the following year, at the end of 2005, (record which has become the favorite of the people) .

In 2005 a new project was born: recording with a polyphonic choir which was named "Cantico Nuevo" by its director, Professor Ariel Muñoz. With this choir they sang three consecutive years and caused great repercussion in Salta. In 2006 the son of the director: Samuel Echazú joined the group bringing a young and strong voice. At the end of that year they made a live recording with the Choir at the Teatro del Huerto.

At the beginning of the year 2007, in the month of January they "played" in Cosquín - Córdoba (place where artists of national and international renown participate). In February of this year the tenor Gustavo Cruz joined the band, who brought treble tones to the voices of the group. In April, the official website of the group was launched: www.triosalta.com.ar. They are currently preparing for the release of a new album that is expected for early 2008.
