Beata Beatrix (Beatrice d'Este, in Hungarian: Estei Beatrix) (1210 - Ferrara, 11 July 1239) was an Italian noblewoman, Queen Consort of Hungary, wife of Andres II of Hungary. Biography

Beatrix was the only daughter of Marquis Aldobrandino I of Este. At a very early age he lost his parents and his uncle Azzo VII de Este raised her in court. There he met King Andres II of Hungary, who had already been widowed twice. The marriage took place in 1234 despite the protest of Prince Béla and his brothers, children of Andres. In 1235 King Andrew died and after this Beatrix announced that he was expecting a son. Immediately the new king Béla IV, elder son of Andres locked up in a prison and accused it that the son that she expected was of Dénes, the Nádor of Hungary. However, Beatrix managed to escape and gave birth to Prince Stephen Posthumus, who will be the father of Andrew III of Hungary, the last king of the House of Arpad.

Beatrix lived until her last days with papal aid, and died in 1239.
