Englebert

Englebert was a Belgian tire manufacturing company, founded by Oscar Englebert.

The company entered the competition in the 1930s with tourism careers and street sports cars.

In the 1950s, Englebert were benchmark racing tires. The performance was exceptional and many of the best Formula One teams of the moment, such as Ferrari, Lancia and Maserati, equipped their cars with Englebert tires

Englebert started in Formula One at the 1950 Monaco Grand Prix, with French drivers Robert Manzon and Maurice Trintignant from Simca-Gordini. After the death of Alfonso de Portago in the 1957 Mille Miglia and Stuart Lewis-Evans in the 1958 Grand Prix of Morocco, Englebert decided to retire from the motor racing competition.
