A display is an uncovered corridor or bypass that is placed on the inside of a medieval fortress wall or a defensive structure. It is the space where the defenders can walk and fight for a hostile attack on the fortress or building.
The protection is protected by a chest punch that is usually made up of tilt and shot holes. On a side-edge protrusion with a chest protector, this was often provided with a throw-through with recessed holes for the wall or gateway to be able to conquer the enemy from above with stones or to tip over with pitch. The hallway along the sidewalks usually rests on savings banks.
