Rijksweg 265

Rijksweg 265 by Mariaheide

Rijksweg N265 is the former secondary connection of Eindhoven with the Rijksweg 50. The starting point of the N265 was the J.F. Kennedy Avenue in Eindhoven. The route of the N265 was via Son and Breugel, Nijnsel, Sint-Oedenrode, Veghel, Mariaheide, Uden and Nistelrode to Oss. At the junction of Oss East, the N265 turned on the A50.

For 1997, the N265 ran from Uden via the village of Zeeland, and Reek to Ravenstein to connect to the A50.

Unlike most N-roads with a high road number, the N265 was not a provincial road. Because the N265 was designated by the Empire to be converted to motorway, the management and maintenance of this road was conducted at Rijkswaterstaat. In 2002, the extension of the A50 towards Eindhoven (formerly from Emmeloord to Hintham) began. These activities were largely completed in 2005. This new highway has largely taken over the function of the old N265. The connection between Oss and Eindhoven has been dramatically improved. In addition, the traffic noise in Veghel, Mariaheide and Son is drastically reduced. The route of the new highway (A50) is about the nucleus while the N265 crossed the nucleus. The feces of the old village centers initially enabled the village of Son to refurbish the old town into a pleasant village heart. In the municipality of Veghel, the rest of the N265 at Mariaheide has already been addressed and refurbished. From 2009 onwards, Veghel itself will launch the shovel and the N265 will disappear forever. The route is cleared and redeveloped as urban road and residential area, which also eliminates the last obstacle of the old N265.
