Arales is a botanical name in the order of order: The name is formed from the family name Araceae. An order under this name is freely acknowledged by plant-taxonomy systems, but not by the APG system (1998) and the APG II system (2003).
Cronquist (1981) used this name for one of the four orders in his subclass Arecidae. The composition was these:
At APG, these two families are merged to the Araceae family (although the Acorus family is deleted again from this family) and placed in the order of Alismatales.
