Carlo Domenico del Carretto (Finale, 1454 - Rome, 15 August 1514) was a Genoese ecclesiastic.
Son of the Marquises of Finale Giovanni Lazzarino del Carretto and Viscontina di Barnaba Adorno, his first thirty years of life are unknown. In 1489 he was appointed archbishop of Cosenza, a post he resigned two years later to become a nuncio before the court of Louis XII of France, and he also served as administrator of the Angers headquarters. >
Julius II created Cardinal deacon of S. Vito and S. Modesto in the consistory of December 1, 1505; in 1507 he opted for the presbyterate of St. Nicola interimages, being transferred that same year to the Archdiocese of Reims and in 1509 to that of Tours. He participated in the Fifth Lateran Council and in the conclave of 1513 in which he was elected Pope Leo X, opting shortly after for the title of Santa Cecilia.
Appointed bishop of Cahors in July 1514, he died a month later at age 70, being buried in the church of St. Cecilia of this city. Sources
