Country blues

The country blues is a genre derived from hillbilly music that appears between 1927 and 1933, basically thanks to the recordings of the white Mississippi musician Jimmie Rodgers, who considers himself the true creator of country music.

Rodgers developed a concept of blues as folk music, interwoven with the traditional Appalachian ballads and the yodel, which achieved unprecedented success. The genre was consolidated before the war, with figures such as the Allen Brothers, Darby & amp; Tarlton, Jimmie Davis, Gene Autry, Cliff Carlisle and others.

The genre deeply influenced African-American blues musicians such as Big Joe Williams, Leadbelly, Mississippi John Hurt, Skip James, Tampa Red and even Howlin 'Wolf, who developed variants of it.
