The Forum believes that the United States has vital interests in the region. He believes in the fundamental importance of close ties with Israel, Turkey and other emerging democracies. It is committed to human rights throughout the region, seeks to promote a regular and low-cost oil supply and supports the peaceful resolution of regional and international rivalries.

The MEF regards the region, with its many dictatorships, radical ideologies, existential conflicts, border disputes, political violence and weapons of mass destruction as one of the main sources of trouble for the United States and therefore calls for urgent action to protect the Americans and their foreign allies against these dangers.

To this end, the Forum attempts to influence the intellectual climate in which US foreign policy decisions are made by addressing central themes in an accessible way to a well-informed audience. edit code
