Principality of Novosil

Principality Novosil (Russian: Новосильское княжество; Novosilskoje knjazjestvo) was a Russian feudal prince around the Neroetsj, Zoesja, Oepa rivers, around the top of the Oka and Don, and formed one of the Upper-Okändities.

The Principality was created in 1246 as one of the semi-independent states that originated after the death of Michael of Chernigov, due to the Mongols, when his sons divided his Prince of Chernigov apart. Son Semjon Gloechovski inherited this principality, which was originally Vorstendom Gloechovski. Over time, however, the capital was moved to Novosil and the principality became its later name. However, the genus Gloechovski continued to hold the scepter on the rule of law. In the early 15th century, however, his descendants decided that the prince was divided among them into three princes: Beljov, Odojev and Vorotynsk.
