Ron Noades (June 22, 1937 - December 24, 2013) was an English businessman who had a strong connection to investments in football clubs. In his time, he was president of Southall, Wimbledon, Crystal Palace and Brentford between 1981 and 1998.
Football Crystal PalaceAs president of Crystal Palace, he led the team through its brightest period, which included the promotion to the former First Division (1989), a FA Cup final (1990), a third place in the first division (1991), and a victory in the Cup of Zenith Data Systems (also 1991).
In 1991, Noades provoked controversy with his comments on the racial makeup of his team: "Black players in this club lend the side of great skill and talent, but white players are also needed to balance things and give the team a brain and a little common sense. " Death
Noades died on December 24, 2013 after a battle with lung cancer. He was 76 years old.
