Social-Liberal Party (Moldova)


The Liberal Social Party (in Romanian: Partidul Social Liberal) was a liberal political party in Moldova. This political party was European federalist, that is to say, it looks for that all the states of Europe are united in a federation.

In 2001, party leader Oleg Serebrian published a manifesto with the intention of founding a liberal social party. This initiative was supported by the National League of Christian Democrat Women and the National Youth League of Moldova. In the year 2002 this movement merges with the Party of Democratic Forces. Since 2006 the party was a member of the Liberal International.

In the last elections of 2005, it was presented in coalition with the Alliance of Our Moldavia and with the Democratic Party of Moldavia. The Liberal Social Party won 3 seats (out of 101).

In 2008 it merged with the Democratic Party of Moldova.
