Plaza de Churubusco

The Plaza de Churubusco occurred in the now National Museum of Interventions (formerly the Convent of Churubusco), located in the San Diego neighborhood, in the Coyoacán Delegation of Mexico City. The location of the former convent was part of the Battle of Churubusco that took place during the US Intervention in Mexico. The generals Manuel Rincón and Pedro María Anaya, with a handful of soldiers and volunteers, defended the ex-convent of Churubusco; which was used as a fortification on the morning of August 20, 1847. Approximately 6,000 US invasion forces attacked the site. Bibliography
