Vortimer

Vortimer was according to Historia Brittonum (he is not mentioned by Gildas, Bede and the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle), the son of Vortigern and the leader of the British in the battle against Hengest. He managed to expel the Anglo-Saxons from Kent and flee over sea, but after his death, Vortigern returned to them, and a large number of British nobles were killed in a tragic way.

According to legend, as described by Geoffrey or Monmouth, Vortimer was king of Britain. He was the son of Vortigern, whom he threw from the throne but was later murdered by his father, who took possession of the throne again.
