Charles Leickert

Charles Henri Joseph Leickert (September 22, 1816, Brussels - December 5, 1907, Mainz) was a Belgian painter of Dutch landscapes.

He learned to paint at the Hague School with landscape painters Bartholomeus van Hove, Wijnand Nuijen and Andreas Schelfhout. Next, Leickert specialized in winter scenes. Almost all his works were painted in the Netherlands, from 1841 to 1848 in The Hague, and from 1849 to 1883 in Amsterdam. In 1856, he became a member of the Royal Academy of Amsterdam. At 71 years old he moved to Mainz, Germany.
