Congregacao Israelita Paulista (CIP), the Jewish congregation of São Paulo, is the largest synagogue in Latin America. Established in 1936 by a group of Jewish refugees fleeing Nazi Germany, this community belongs to the Reform movement but also has links with the conservative movement.

The rabbinate of this community is composed of rabbis Henry Sobel (president), Yehuda Busquila and Michel Schlesinger, and an assistant, Uri Lam, who also plans to study to become a rabbi in the near future. Two 'Hazzanim, Avi Bursztein and Alexander Edelstein, participate in the prayers.
