Dudu is a king of Akkad who ruled around 2193 to 2175 BC. He ascends the throne after Shar-kali-sharri, but it is unclear whether he is his direct successor, since the Royal List of Super includes four kings who ruled in three years otherwise unknown. The kingdom of Akkad then lost most of the territories that had been conquered by the first rulers of the dynasty, notably because of the attacks of the Gutis as well as the independence of several cities. Dudu therefore dominates more than the city of Akkad and its surroundings, around present-day Baghdad. The cities of southern Mesopotamia, such as Lagash and Umma, or Elam have become threatening to the former dominant power, and Dudu must face them. This king is also known by several inscriptions commemorating his offerings made to deities. Shu-turul succeeds him. Internal linkedit code
