The Quantum Funds Group is a group of private hedge funds. They are based in Curacao (Netherlands Antilles) and in the Cayman Islands and are managed by George Soros through its Soros Fund Management company. Soros created the funds in 1973 by partnering with Jim Rogers. Although the identity of the stockholders of the funds is never made public, it is known that the Rothschild family and other European billionaires put $ 6 million into the funds in 1969.

In 1992, the main fund, the Soros Quantum Fund, became famous for 'ruining' the Bank of England, forcing it to devalue the pound. Soros had bet his whole bottom on a short sale for one, finally fulfilled, prediction that the British currency would fall in value. In 1997, Soros was accused of forcing serious devaluations in Southeast Asian currencies in the Asian financial crisis.

In July 2011, to avoid requirements under the Dodd-Frank Wall Street reform and consumer protection law, Quantum Fund announced that it would return all of the fund's external money by the end of 2011. The fund now only handles the family fortune of Soros.
