Atomic Age

This article is a draft on history and nuclear.

The atomic age is the time during which humanity developed the atomic weapon, and carried out numerous atmospheric and underground underground tests. It began in 1942 with the Manhattan Project, covers the Second World War which ends with the use of two atomic bombs in Hiroshima and Nagazaki, and the subsequent period of the Cold War. This era can be stopped at the signing of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty on 24 September 1996, although three states have not signed the agreement (North Korea, India and Pakistan) and 5 states have not ratified (China Egypt, United States, Iran, Israel).
