Brian Roberts (born in London, 1930) is a British author of numerous historical and biographical works related to personalities, places and themes that are part of the history of South Africa. He studied at St Mary's College in Twickenham and at the University of London, where he qualified as a sociologist and teacher. It was as a teacher that he arrived in South Africa in 1959. Roberts, like his colleague Theo Aronson, became disenchanted with the political regime in South Africa in the 1970s and moved to England in 1979. Work
