The Cortijuelo Watchtower is one of the optical towers that were part of the Montefrío Castle defensive system. It is located very close to the village of Montefrío, visually connecting with it, and is of the Nasrid period. Its cartographic location is as follows: M.M.E., E. 1 / 50,000, sheet 1008, grid 408 / 4132.
Description It is a cylindrical tower, 5 m high (although possibly its origin was larger), solid, built with masonry work in strings, with stones of medium size, raised by formwork, since there are traces of mechinales- It is kept in good condition. Notes Bibliography
