Johann Jacob Bach (1682 -1732) was a German oboist.

Son of Johann Ambrosius Bach and brother of Johann Sebastian Bach, was born in Eisenach. After his studies in his hometown, he was oboist in the municipal band, and then entered the service of the military band of the Swedish Navy of Charles XII of Sweden in 1704. For this trip, Johann Sebastian wrote his well-known Capricio sopra la lontananza del suo fratello dilettissimo BWV 992 (Capricho on the remoteness of his beloved brother) or (the farewell of the beloved brother).

He participated in the battle of Poltava (1709), and perfected himself with the French flutist Pierre-Gabriel Buffardin in Constantinople. From 1713 until his death in 1732 he served in the court chapel of Stockholm. Sources
