Portuguese continental or Portuguese mainland refers to the Portuguese mainland on the Iberian Peninsula, as well as the nearby small islands.

They are the counterparts to the remote Portuguese islands that make up the archipelagos of Madeira and the Azores.

In Portugal, this geographical division of the country is simplified orally and in writing by the abstract: "the continent" (in Portuguese: "o continent").
