This Mortal Coil

This Mortal Coil was a musical project by Ivo Watts-Russell, founder of the UK record label 4AD Records. With the project, he brought important 4AD artists with some others who did not belong to the label under a common name. There were, among other things, contributions from Howard Devoto, Colorbox, Dead Can Dance and Cocteau Twins. Between 1983 and 1991, This Mortal Coil released three albums: It'll End in Tears, Filigree & amp; Shadow, and Blood, each of which largely contains interpretations of songs from the 70's, such as Alex Chilton, Chris Bell, Roy Harper and Gene Clark. This Mortal Coil has become especially known in the Netherlands by song to the siren by Tim Buckley of the EP It'll End in Tears, because Peter J Brugge's hardcore chapters often turned into his radio showroom orphanage. The song is performed by Elizabeth Fraser (vocal) and Robin Guthrie (electronics) of the Cocteau Twins. Also the cover You and Your Sister was a Top 40 hit.

The name "This Mortal Coil" comes from the play Hamlet and is a poetic to the earthly condition. Discography
