Thunderstick

Thunderstick (real name: Barry Purkis) was drummer at Iron Maiden in 1977 for a very short period of time. He was replaced by Doug Sampson in 1978.

Thunderstick left the band to play at Samson, where Bruce Dickinson was still known as "Bruce Bruce" singer before he left Iron Maiden.

Thunderstick was especially famous for his anonymity and his crazy capriols. He always played the drums masked and in a cage and concealed the press. He was also sometimes anesthetized by drugs that he nearly fell asleep during a concert or threw beer over his head or a canvas over the cage so nobody could see him properly. Externe link
