Waldiberg

The Waldiberg is a farming community in the mountains at Bristen in the Canton of Uri in Switzerland.

In addition to the Waldiberg's farming community, it is also known for its nature and culture in Uri. Old farms and large alpine meadows can be found here. Under international tourism, the Waldiberg is not known, as opposed to local tourism. Luftseilbahn Deficit - Waldiberg

The Luftseilbahn Bristen - Waldiberg runs from the town of Bristen to the Waldiberg, with a height difference of 390 meters, and can carry up to 34 people per hour. The cable car is a cooperative service.

The Luftseilbahn Waldiberg was built in 1950 by NSD Lift AG and was renewed in 1979. The cable car can only be activated by the collection of special coins available throughout the village of Bristen.

The cableway was originally intended only for farmers living on top of the mountain. Nowadays, tourists can also use this cable car. Until 31 January 2020, this cableway will remain in use, after which this cableway will expire in connection with European safety standards. There will be no renewed cableway because there is no funding and because probably all the residents will be away from the mountain by 2020.
