Jawa (motorcycle brand)

Jawa (Zbrojovka Ing. F. Janecek, later Tovarna Jawa, Tynec.) is a Czech motorcycle brand.

Czech brand that originated in 1929 when Ing. Frantisek Janecek bought the brand Wanderer and was licensed to build 498 cc of cardboard drive headlash engines.

The name Jawa stands for Janecek-Wanderer. From 1929, 98, 173 and 246 cc two-stroke motorcycles were built under Villiers and Auto-Union licenses, as well as own models with 346 and 500 cc side and head valve motors.

After the war, modern 246 and 346 cc two-strokes were developed. During that period, Jawa de Ogar Werke left over, as well as the ESO brand, where lane sports machines were built, and there was a collaboration with the brand CZ, although both brands remained separate.

Nowadays, Jawa produces brass and motorcycles. Motorbikes are sometimes involved in Rotax and Minarelli. Spot and nicknames
