Johny Schleck


Johny Schleck (Assel, November 22, 1942) is a former Luxembourg cyclist. His father, Gustav Schleck, was cycling in the 30's.

Between 1965 and 1974, Schleck was a cyclist rider and participated in the Tour de France 7 times. From 1965 to 1968 he joined the team Pelforth - Sauvage - Lejeune, from 1969 until the end of his career at the Bic team.

His best result in the Tour de France he achieved in 1970, when he became 19th overall ranking; in 1967 he became 20th. In 1968 he joined Jan Janssen, and in 1973 he joined the team of the later winner of the Tour de France, Luis Ocaña. In 1970 he won a ride in the Tour of Spain. In 1965 and 1973, Schleck was a Luxembourg champion.

Schleck is married and has three sons, two of whom have been proficient: Andy (1985) and Fränk (1980).
