Secondary School and Bachelor of Arts and Crafts


Secondary School and Bachelor of Arts and Crafts (E.S.B.A.O.) was the first school of its kind in Mexico. It is currently one of the main schools in the state of Veracruz. Currently it has changed its name to E.S.A.O (Secondary School of Arts and Crafts) in its educational level of the secondary level.

History

On January 17, 1871, the graduate José María Mena Sosa founded the school with the name of Preparatory College of Sciences and Arts and with this a new era in the education of Córdoba begins. After the pedagogical congress of 1915 the first Secondary School in the republic was founded. The name has changed enormously due to the changes in educational leadership, up to the current name. The classes were taught at the Francisco I. Madero school from 1871 to 1925, but it closed due to an economic crisis. Location

Previously the E.S.B.A.O. It was located in the building of the former convent of Santa Rosa de Lima, located between avenues 1 and 2 of the center of Córdoba. Now this school is located in building 1 on 11th Avenue between 28th and 30th streets of the city of Córdoba and building 2 on 22nd Street between 17th and 19th avenues. Administration

The E.S.B.A.O. It has several buildings. The high school building has 24 classrooms, two laboratories, two prefectures and a nurse's office and houses more than 2,800 students. It also has the largest auditorium in Córdoba: the Dr. Manuel Suárez Auditorium, with a capacity of more than 1000 people. In another building is the administration of both schools (E.S.A.O. and E.B.A.O.), a library, the cafeteria of baccalaureate, the computer room of high school and the administration of the E.S.B.N. (Secondary School and Night Bachelors). In a third building are the school's workshops, the bathrooms, the changing rooms (they are no longer in use), the secondary computer room and the secondary cafeteria.

On the grounds there are 2 basketball courts, 2 volleyball courts, a small football field, a large football field surrounded by an athletic track (soon to become a tartan track) and a large parking lot. A Teacher Update Center is currently being built at the back of the site.
