Moldavite is a green to dark green vitreous material that can form during a meteorite impact. Moldavite is sometimes sold as an ornamental stone, cut and polished, under the name of chrysolite or pseudo-chrysolite. The name of this gem does not refer to the region of Moldova but to the Czech locality of Týn nad Vltavou, located in the southern part of Bohemia and formerly known by its German name Moldautein, where moldavite is particularly abundant. p> code Related Articleschange the code
