Vitor's Gulch


The Vítor Gorge (also called the Codpa River or Chaca Gorge) is a water course in the Arica and Parinacota region of northern Chile, located between the city of Arica and the Camarones River. >

It originates in the precordillera, in the angostura of Umirpa, being its main tributary the ravine Garza or Calisama ,. Then it descends westwards through a narrow mountain range till reaching the town of Codpa. It continues downstream crossing the pampas of Chaca and Camarones, until arriving at the Pacific Ocean in the Vitor creek. It has an exorreic basin, of intermittent flow.
