Blake Baxter is an American techno producer linked to Detroit's "first wave" techno. Given his limited media exposure, he has been considered the "most underrated figure" of the first Detroit techno. Baxter began playing in the mid-1980s. He released several albums on Kevin Saunderson's label, KMS Records, and appears in the seminal Techno: The New Dance Sound of Detroit compilation that released this sound to the entire world. . At the beginning of the decade of the 90 he worked actively with the group Underground Resistance. Both by his tendency to publish in unknown seals and by his long stay living in Berlin, he is considered like a producer little attached to ties and very independent.

On his return to Detroit, he created the Mix Records and Phat Joint labels. Discography
