Communist Party of Nicaragua


The Communist Party of Nicaragua, is a Nicaraguan political party of communist ideology. It was founded with the name of Partido Obrero Socialista in 1967. The founding nucleus of the POS was made up of Juan Lorio, Augusto Lorío, Elí Altamirano and Manuel Pérez Estrada, who had been expelled from the Nicaraguan Socialist Party (PSN) on April 23 of that year .

In 1970 the POS changed its name to the PC of N.

In 1990, I created and founded Unión Nacional Opositora (UNO) to oust the Sandinista government from power; was one of the 14 parties of that coalition that won the elections of 25 of February of that same year, that won Violeta Chamorro candidate of that alliance. He went alone to the October 20, 1996 elections, which won the candidate of the Liberal Alliance (AL) Arnoldo Alemán. Bibliography
