Lucio Minucio Esquilino

Lucio Minucius Esquilino Augurino (Latin: Lucius Minucius Esquilinus Augurinus), was Roman consul on three occasions, the first of them in the year 458 a. C., with Cayo Naucio Rútilo. The other two occasions were, in the decenviratos of the years 450 BC and 449 BC, with Espurio Opio Córnicen as a colleague.

During his first consulate he would be responsible for the conflict with the Ecuos. He transferred his men to Tusculum and stayed there, yielding the initiative to his rivals. The equos surrounded the Roman camp and only the arrival of the troops led by the dictator Lucio Quincio Cincinato prevented that Esquilino fell defeated; overcoming the equos in Latium. After the battle, Cincinato made him resign his consulate.

In the fasti consular we find one of the inventions that are so common in Roman history: in the Fasti, Esquilino appears as consul suffectus of another consul whose name has been lost.
