Elixir of Antwerp

The Antwerp elixir is an alcoholic drink made in Belgium by F.X. de Beukelaer. Created in 1863, it responded to the emerging demand for alcohol supposedly less harmful to health than those usually consumed then, or even adorned with various preventive and curative virtues. The Elixir of Antwerp is today served as an aperitif or digestive.

Thirty-two plants and herbs are macerated in pure alcohol and sugar, and the whole is aged in oak barrels. The manufacturing takes a total of five months. change the code code Related articlechange code
