It is the highest executive body collegiate of the Autonomous Community. Its functions are civil administration, law enforcement and regulation. Members respond to the High Court of Justice, in both civil and criminal matters. They are subject to political control through the question of trust and the motion of censorship. In accordance with Organic Law 6/2001 of December 21, Universities, as amended by Organic Law 4/2007, dated April 12, the Governing Council is a collegiate body that must exist in all public universities, presided over by its Rector and forming part of the same the Secretary General, the Generant, the Vicerrecores and a percentage of members of each sector of the University Community. It establishes the strategic lines of the University and the procedures to develop them, in the academic, research, human and economic resources and budgeting.
