Sam Cohen (poet)

Salomon (Sam) Cohen (Rotterdam, February 2, 1908 - March 11, 1985) was a Dutch cigars and bookstore from Rotterdam who started with quick lights in 1954.

"Do you ever meet in Rotterdam, you are very welcome to Samuel!" was a strike with which Cohen tried to promote his cigarette trade.

Cohen was called the 'Quicklight of Delfshaven'. Because Cohen became 100 years in 2008, an exhibition was dedicated to him in The Dubbelde Palmboom, which belongs to the Rotterdam Historical Museum. A book about him was also published on the occasion of his 100th birthday, handed by Rien Vroegindeweij and Jan Oudenaarden, both working at the Rotterdammological Institute.

The exhibition opened on April 12, 2008 and lasted 3 months.
