HistoryThe botanical garden opened in 1888 in a different location than the current one. In 1893 he moved to his permanent location.
After a period of 50 years of operation it was closed to the public in 1950.
It had a 30-year restoration and conditioning period as one of St Johns greatest attractions during the 1980s and 1990s.
In the late 1990s it was badly damaged by a hurricane. Once restored it shows us all its splendor. Collections
