The Christian Democratic Party (Spanish: Partido Demócrata Cristiano, PDC) is a christian democratic political party in El Salvador.
The PDC was one of the largest parties in El Salvador in the 1960s and 70th, and held a central position in relation to the Central Right Party of National Reconciliation (PCN). Today, however, it is one of the smaller parties, with 6.8% of the votes in 2006, and is in the center between the Nationalist Republican Alliance (ARENA) and Front Farabundo Martí for National Liberation (FMLN). However, since none of the major parties has a majority in the Legislative Assembly, the PDC is still a force of importance because of its middle position. In 2011, the PDC changed its name to Partido de la Esparanza, or Party of Hope.
