Forwarding Constitutionalist Party

The Forwarding Constitutionalist Party (Spanish: Partido Constitucional Progresista, PCP) was a political party in Mexico.

The PCP was founded on July 17, 1911, following the overthrow of dictator Porfirio Díaz by Francisco I. Madero. For the presidential elections in November of that year, Madero José María Pino Suárez wanted to serve as Vice Presidential candidate, but the National Anti-Election Party (PNA) wanted Francisco Vázquez Gómez as presidential candidate. That's why Madero founded a new party. Among the founders of the PCP were Gustavo A. Madero, José Vasconcelos, Alfredo Robles Domínguez, Roque Estrada, Eduardo Hay, Jesús Flores Magón, Heriberto Frías and Roque González Garza. President of the party was Victor Moya Zorrilla.

Madero, whose candidacy was supported by all parties, the presidential elections and Pino Suárez won the Vice-Presidential elections. The PCP became the largest in the Congress of the Union after the anti-electoral party. The party disappeared after the coup of Victoriano Huerta in 1913.
