Lemberg Tower

Lemberg Tower

The Lemberg tower is a steel tower 34 meters high on the Lemberg mountain, which is the highest in the Swabian Alb. The tower was built in 1899 by the company Ant. Fauler. It opened on June 17, 1899.

The viewing platform of the Lemberg Tower is located at a height of 30 meters. The access, which is possible in any season, goes through a staircase of 152 steps.

The Lemberg tower consists of 23 tons of iron.

In the mid-1980s, the former Rottweil telecommunications office installed two directional antennas on the Lemberg tower to set up a microwave communications link between the buildings in Rottweil and the Rottweil trunks, located in Gosheim. This microwave link, which would not have been possible on the direct path, completed the existing telephone network. After these were replaced by fiber optic cables, the microwave antennas became useless, and were dismantled in 2005.

The Lemberg tower is located at coordinates 48 ° 09 '03 "N, 8 ° 44' 56" E. Linkschange the code
