Lomonosovschiereiland

The Lomonosov Peninsula (Russian: полуостров Ломоносова) is a hilly peninsula on the west coast of Amoer Bay in the south of the Russian Far East. It is named after the famous Russian scientist Michail Lomonosov.

It is located between the Narvabocht in the southwest and Perevoznajabocht in the northeast and is connected to the mainland on the east side by a low sandy and pebbly landmark and on the western side of the mainland separated by the lagoon Tsaplitsjja (Цапличья).

The northern slopes of the peninsula gradually expire and are covered with forest while the southern slopes rise steeply and are covered with grass. The northeastern slopes are used as agricultural land.

The southwest end is called Cape Toerek. Cape Toerek also forms the eastern boundary of the Narvabocht and consists of a rocky and steep hill of 49.9 meters high. In front of the cape there are a number of weathered rocks that penetrate deep into the sea. On the east side of the peninsula is the highest point at 85 meters. The eastern tip of the peninsula is also called Cape Lomonosov and is named after the peninsula.

To the north of the peninsula lies the port of Perevoznoje. At the beginning of the 21st century there were plans for the construction of a guest terminal on the peninsula, as the Perevoznajabocht was in the run as a possible ending point for the Eastern oil pipeline. In 2006, however, decided to expel this northerner at the Koezmino Battle. 43° 0′ NB, 131° 33′ OL
