Moshe Castel


Moshe Castel (in Hebrew, משה קסטל, Jerusalem, 1909 - Tel Aviv, 1991) Israeli painter.

Born into a Sephardic family, he studied at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, the Académie Julian and the École du Louvre in Paris, where he lived for 15 years.

His mural works are found in emblematic buildings in Israel, such as the Binyanei Ha'umá congress venue (1958); the Israeli Parliament, the Knesset (1966); the residence of the Presidents of Israel (1970).
